At this time we welcome the new year, but what is time anyway? We think time is very real, but does time truly have any reality? Scientists and spiritual beings have delved into the nature of reality and have come to discover that time is a concept of mind used to interpret experience. Outside of the human mind time has no reality. The popular terms “the power of now,” “live the moment”, “be here now”, and “the eternal now” point to this truth.
When attention is single pointed in the moment where is the past, is there any concern for the future, and what are you in such a moment? Scientists and spiritual beings, using different methods of exploration, have discovered that when being completely present there is no one apart, but only Awareness.
So if time has no reality and if we are only Consciousness what are we dwelling on when we say we are in pain, physically or emotionally because of something that happened to us in the past? What are we affirming when we make new year’s resolutions? Are we affirming the past, projecting into the future, or abiding in the present?
Connect with the inherent intelligence that abides in each present moment now and now and now and watch your past dissolve and the future unfold in a most mysterious way. This presence is the healing principle, as it allows the innate intelligence of the body to restore balance as we release patterns of tension. The healing arts of acupuncture, massage, yoga and meditation are tools that assist in developing this state of presence. Make an appointment with one of our practitioners and begin the new year in a balanced state.
“As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease. When you act out of the present-moment awareness, whatever you do becomes imbued with a sense of quality, care and love — even the most simple action.” Eckhart Tolle
