Kirkland Whole Life Clinic is credentialed with several insurance companies including Aetna, American Specialty Health, Cigna, First Choice, Premera, Regence, United Healthcare, and Lifewise. If you do not see your insurance company listed here, please inquire with your insurance company, as we may be in network with them or you may have out-of-network coverage for our services. We also accept auto accident, personal injury, and L&I/worker’s compensation cases. Please note that it is the patient’s responsibility to verify specific coverage for the services we provide.
Through the Every Category of Provider law, Washington state requires private insurance companies to provide a benefit for every category of health care provider. This includes naturopathic medicine, homeopathic medicine, physical medicine (such as soft-tissue manipulation), acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition consulting and counseling. The law does not dictate what the benefit must be (such as how many visits should be covered or who can deliver the care), but the result is that now several insurance companies will pay for alternative and complementary health care appointments. The law does not apply to insurance companies that are not privately funded, such as Medicare, Medicaid, Basic Health Plan and self-funded plans. Out-of-state medical plans are not necessarily required to follow this law. Please check with your plan to confirm coverage.
Each patient should check with their insurance provider to understand their specific benefits. Patients without insurance, or who have insurance we are not in network with, will be asked for payment at the time of their appointment and are given a time of service discount (TOS). In that case, we are happy to provide you with a bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network coverage for our services. The TOS discount may also be known as a bookkeeping/prompt-pay/self-pay discount and is allowed under WA State law. To simplify pricing information for the general public, the prices listed on the Rates and Discount page include the TOS discount. We accept cash, checks, debit cards, and all major credit cards.
Please note: In some instances, your insurance will cover all services. In the event that services are not covered by your insurance, you are responsible for paying any or all charges. Health insurance will typically only cover one hour on any given date of service, as such we will only bill up to one hour and any longer sessions will be subject to our Time-of-Service rate and will not be billed to insurance.
